Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Following significant development within our Growth Plan, we are now seeking to broaden our leadership team with the first-time appointment of an experienced, high-energy Commercial Manager who shares our passion for the finest bespoke craftsmanship. This important ambassadorial role requires a talented professional who first and foremost has an innate appreciation of the Longpré brand. Reporting to director level and working as a key member of our senior management team, this strategic role will take responsibility for end-to-end commercial management of Longpre’s pre and post-contract process whilst participating in the overall long-term direction of the company.

Essential to the role are the expert skills of a Senior Quantity Surveyor professional combined with the dynamic commercial acumen of a business development professional to drive forward business growth. The fast-paced, results-based environment requires a hands-on approach to lead from the front, together with the interpersonal skills to build strong team relationships through a culture of open communication and collaboration.

Creating an ethical, sustainable business that contributes beyond its commercial interests is of paramount importance to the company, the Commercial Manager will be a key player in the Longpré team as it achieves its wider societal goals.

Role Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior ambassador for Longpré, managing and nurturing the client relationship to deliver a luxury client experience across the company’s project portfolio.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day leadership and support of our pre and post-contract team of 4, providing guidance, support and mentoring as required. Demonstrate a ‘Team First’ mindset to keep workplace wellbeing at the forefront of all commercial activities.
  • Work closely with the business development team to identify growth opportunities. Site travel within the UK and overseas as required.
  • Overall responsibility for shaping and developing the tender function management of the business.
  • Liaise with clients to determine tender scope, contract requirements and client objectives across multiple projects.
  • Prepare full tender documentation for the submission of competitive tender packages.
  • Negotiate the client project contract throughout the tender process, reviewing terms and conditions as required.
  • Manage all project contracts and finances across the company’s post-contract portfolio.
  • Ensure the supply chain is engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions.
  • Attend/chair client project kick-off meetings and regular progress meetings within the life cycle of the project. Site travel within the UK and overseas as required.
  • Work closely with the projects team ensuring scope of works, costs and project contract terms and conditions are fully understood.
  • Prepare substantiated valuations and final accounts in line with project contractual timescales, liaising with the projects and finance teams.
  • Manage effective change control, tracking changes within project life cycle to include EWNs and variations.
  • Prepare regular commercial reporting to senior stakeholders to include financial metrics, risk analysis and other performance related data.
  • Play a key role in the development of the company’s business process to achieve industry recognised accreditations.
  • Play a key role in the implementation of the company’s ‘Sustainability Plan’, driving the green transformation of the company’s operational work practices.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyor within
  • high-end interior fit-outs or other relevant sector.
  • Proven experience of contract law to include management of JCT contracts.
  • In-depth knowledge of pre and post-contractual process.
  • In-depth knowledge of tender management software.
  • Excellent IT, spoken/written English and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and CAD drawings advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in quantity surveying, commercial management, or other relevant degree.
  • MRICS or working towards APC.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.

Experienced Furniture Finisher

With an expanding portfolio of international commissions for some of the most prestigious residential and commercial addresses worldwide, we are looking for an experienced Senior Furniture Finisher to join our furniture finishing department.

As a senior member of the finishing team, you will be responsible for the application of high-end, bespoke finishes to free-standing and fitted furniture within the luxury interiors sector. This is a fast-paced, creative environment where our clients’ exacting standards and demanding project deadlines require a flexible work approach.

The Senior Furniture Finisher will be one of the go-to members of the finishing team, playing a key role in the technical development of new and specialised furniture finishes. The position offers an exciting opportunity to progress within the company and to train to become a Master Furniture Finisher.

Role Responsibilities
